How I RE-charge

I’m a home body. If I’ve been out for too long, socializing and doing stuff for more than 4 hours, I begin to deflate and my energy levels decrease significantly. This is something that I have come to understand about myself and I have learned to honor it.

I’m also a very sensitive person, I feel everything a little too much and that can really drain me. Some people recharge by going out, being with people and conversing a lot. But I am the complete opposite. I need to be home and not leave my house for a full 24 hrs. Not exaggerating. So today I want to share with you guys a few of the ways I like to restore my mind and body to keep going. You will notice a constant theme, it is really all about organization and being super gentle with myself.

Try to not plan any social events, no phone calls, and try to not even leave your house, unless it is for a walk or some sun bathing. Alright, lets get to it.

  1. Honoring my morning routine religiously.

First and foremost, I have mastered a solid morning routine.

Yes, we are all sick of hearing about morning routines but guys, this is the secret to an epic and successful day. It’s for a reason everyone talks about it! It sets your tone for the day. At least it’s worked for me! So set a morning routine, thank me later. Okay so this is what I do EVERY SINGLE morning. Yes, I wake up with enough time every morning so that I can complete my ritual. This for me is a non negotiable. This is a priority for me. I’ll try to keep it short. If my day does not start with my morning ritual, I won’t be able to fully recharge.

A.) I start by walking my dog around 6:45 am. Then I feed him right away if not he won’t let me continue with my day. Then, B.) I do my skin care routine and all my bathroom business. C.) I then fill my water bottle (24 oz) and try to chug that down before my morning coffee. D.) I begin to drink my water as I journal and reflect on gratitude. E.) This then transitions into me praying and making time with God and my spirituality. F.) I meditate for 10-20 mins. Once I’m done with that, G.) I go and make my coffee! My favorite part of the day. I begin to sip on this deliciousness and read whatever book I’m into at the moment. Right now I’m reading Woman Code by Alisa Vitti (HIGHLY recommend for every woman to read this book. It’s my second bible). Once I’m done with my coffee, H.) it’s time for yoga! I can extend even more on this, but maybe on another post.

2. I book a massage

Getting massages is probably my favorite form of recharging. Getting massages regularly has been proven to help with stress and overall well being. This is a priority and I make sure to make the time to incorporate them at least twice a month, sometimes even weekly if I can.

3. Put your phone on silent and give yourself a break for a few hours without checking your phone. This will help you stay in the present moment and will give you a sense of relaxation. You will get things done more efficiently and you will be enjoying your day without distractions.

4. I make lists of thing I have to do. Organize my tasks.

This might sounds a little random, but there is something so liberating and fulfilling about writing down all the things I need to get done. It gives me a sense of organization and makes me feel like I have more control over my life!

5. I clean and organize my home

Speaking of organization, a tidy home is a happy life! Nothing feels better than knowing your house is clean and looking gorgeous! If my house is a mess, everything else is a mess.

6. I drink chamomile tea with coconut milk and honey

This drink is my go to if I want to relax and feel so good. It recharges my energy and keeps me calm throughout the day. I love drinking this while I’m organizing the house.

7. I read something inspiring or informative

Reading things that inspire me and nurture me with information! I also enjoy reading about fashion and makeup. It’s comforting and it will excite you next time you need to go somewhere!

8. I watch a youtube video

Sometimes it’s nice to just check out and watch a youtube video to disconnect and not think about anything. This helps me to relax and just feel good! Obviously I watch inspiring stuff. Nothing that could provoke comparison or anxiety!

9. I cook a delicious meal

I’ll treat myself with nourishing and energizing meals throughout the day. That usually tends to be pasta with pesto, turkey meatballs with sweet potatoes, fruits, healthy fats.

10. Focus on I hydration! I make sure I’m drinking 3-4 of my 24oz water bottle.

11. I wash my makeup brushes. This helps me prepare for the following day. Feels so nice knowing I have clean brushes to do makeup the next day!

12. I organize my closet and set things aside to donate. The feeling of clearing out and getting rid of things that no longer serve you nor bring you joy! if you haven’t used it in the last 6 months, just donate it or give it away to a friend that might get use out of it.

13. I give myself a hot bath and full body scrub. I like to to this at the end of the day when I am done doing everything.

14. I like to go to sleep early with my dog and just let me body unwind.

I hope I can inspire you to take a little break and recharge from our busy lives.

Email me, comment! Share with me how you enjoy recharging 🙂

Much love always!
