A DAY IN: Ascoli Piceno

We were spending the weekend at Riccardo’s family beach house in Porto San Giorgio. We woke up bright and early and took about an hour road trip to Ascoli Piceno. One of the most astonishing little villages I have ever seen. So much history in every corner and it just really made me feel like I was in Italy, I had never been anywhere like this before. Such a small and cozy little town but so much energy and warmth from the people there. I had one of the most delicious meals there and an amazing time with my love.

Palazzo dei Capitani del Popolo

Cafe Meletti

Quick coffee stop before lunch
Capuccino with soy milk
Then went for a little walk and had some lunch

Lunch at Ristorante Vittoria Ascoli Piceno

Absolutely delicious.
This was one of the most hidden little spots and yet I was able to eat a traditional bruschetta with gluten free bread and gluten free spaghetti!
Olive all/Ascolana
This is a very traditional dish/snack from this village
My gluten free bruschetta
gluten free spaghetti with tuna, olives and sauce. I also indulged on some Parmigiano Reggiano aged for 24 months. If the cheese is aged for at least 24 months, this process makes the lactose get drained off with the whey! So you bet I had some.
I love this picture! This was from the outside of the kitchen where we had lunch.

The end…

With love always,

Angela
