MONDAY’S STORY TIME | The Christmas blues | Being Grateful

Hello my loves! Hope you all had an amazing weekend. I am very exited to write my very first “Monday Stories” post, where I will be sharing with you random stories about my life, fashion, current events and just amusing things happening around us!

For my first post, I wanted to share with you all, more of a personal story. And since we are currently in the holiday seasons, I will be talking about how I spent my very first Christmas in Mexico City, plus all the nostalgic mixed feelings we tend to perceive during this time of year.

The Holidays always seem to be a very nostalgic time of year. We want to be with our relatives and friends but most importantly, we fancy a lover!

The holidays can be a little blue if we don’t have someone by our side. But you know what? One less present to worry about! hehehe. I’ve been blessed enough to spend it with my very dear boyfriend who I adore so much. Needless to say, we are always getting each other gifts all year round, so we never really buy a gift for one another for Christmas. So when my friends ask me, what my boyfriend got me for Christmas, I always feel so unfomfortable when I have to say, “Well, nothing really” But then I explain to them that he has been so wonderful to me all year round, that a christmas gift from him is so unnecessary. So we just tell each other every year, no gifts! Just lots of love and happiness 🙂 What more do we need?

Of course spending christmas with a partner is indulging but spending it alone can also be quite enjoyable and definitely has a plus!

I have to confess, the morning of December 24th I was feeling a tad bit sappy, moody and sad. I was missing the smell of all that Venezuelan food, the music and of course, my mom’s laughs. I was alone with my dog and my boyfriend.

It is beyond crazy, how our minds can be controlled by ONE thought! I automatically decided to make a switch and I told myself  “ANGELA YOU ARE SO BLESSED! YOU ARE SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE & YOUR BELOVED PUPPY, WHAT MORE COULD YOU POSSIBLE ASK FOR, YOU UNGRATEFUL LITTLE BI***” I felt this enormous wave of abundance and I felt so grateful for everything and everyone on my life.

Then, I literally woke up from that gray cloud I was standing on, I put a smile on my face & I told myself let’s do this! I made a delicious brunch for the two of us, I got all slammed up, lit up candles everywhere and I put on a cute dress.

An hour later, My boyfriend tells me that some friends of ours here in Mexico City invited us to a Venezuelan style dinner at their house. I was so thrilled and life itself is such a blessing! The universe had answered. I was going to have my traditional Venezuelan dinner and an unforgettable time with friends. The perfect Christmas Eve. Not that I needed this be pleased. This is just a cute little story that comes to show, how being GRATEFUL, can always get you MORE.

Wrapping this story here, I hope you all had a very blessed Christmas and continue to receive the best this world has got to offer!

Love,

Angela
